Former England international Jay Bothroyd could be banned from driving after being caught using a mobile phone whilst driving near Hyde Park in February.

Bothroyd, who already has nine points on his driving licence, was not present at City of London magistrates court last week, where he was found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving.

The QPR striker was caught using his mobile phone whilst driving his £150,000 Bentley. He also accused a police officer of lying.

His sentencing was postponed until July 5th. Prosecutor Mavis Ramkissoon warned: "If he doesn't come, he's liable to be disqualified in his absence."
